The Story:
When I returned to BEK from my piano exile in June 2001, I was made aware of some strange noises emitting from the computer in the sound studio. After some investigation, it became apparent that the noises were the result of a curious combination of conflicting apps, drivers and hardware. As the G4 froze, it seemed like it played back all its RAM as sound. The machine crashed in a spectacular piece, reproducible, but sonicly different on every new crash. Or: As it died, all it remembered was sound. It was a full blown automatic computer concert.

The CD:
BEK invited 7 composers to remix the computer concert, and the result is on the release. It has taken years to complete this project, so when these remixes finally reaches its audience, we are celebrating the 5 year anniversary of this historic crash concert. The 7 composers are: Espen Sommer Eide, Asbjørn Blokkum Flø, Francisco Lopez, Øyvind Brandtsegg, Ulf Knudsen, Thorolf Thuestad and Jørgen Larsson. The two CDs are the one with the original crash and the other with the 7 remixes.
